Background - Agua Fria Union (Agua Fria HS - repair electrical service)

Agua Fria Union has submitted a Building Renewal Grant request to restore electrical service to Agua Fria High School.

Agua Fria Union, located 16 miles west of downtown Phoenix, has four schools.  Agua Fria High School is comprised of 29 buildings constructed between 1955 and 2014, totaling 267,092 square feet.

The entire campus of Agua Fria High School lost power. Through troubleshooting, the power was restored to all but three buildings. The district requested funding to assess the power failure, ensure safety of the campus, and provide temporary power while a permanent repair is made.

Criteria for Eligibility
Pursuant to A.R.S. §15-2032, Building Renewal Grant Funds are only available to correct primary building renewal projects.
 
The district meets this criteria including doing preventative maintenance.

Staff Recommendation - Aqua Fria Union (Aqua Fria HS - repair electrical service)

Staff recommends that Aqua Fria Union be awarded $49,000 in Building Renewal Grant funding to repair electrical service at Agua Fria High School (project number 07051601S-9999-003BRG). This includes $16,590 in contingency that may only be used with SFB staff approval.
